Tree planting

We had a great day for planting on Saturday.  While it rained a little and the wind blew a little it was still, all-in-all, a good day!

Scouters Rob and Brandy setup our shelter at the Lakeview Church, where our group all gathered along with groups from around Wellington and even Georgetown!  Everyone took the shuttle bus over to the planting site, across the road from the Guelph Lake Nature Centre.  Unlike previous years, the trees being planted were quite large and needed big holes dug!!  So everyone did lots of work.  At the Nature Centre they had a variety of displays set up and special ceremonies.  It was really well organized.

From what we understand, the Rotary Club is planning on doing this for another 12 years and planting a total of 65,000 trees to comprise the Rotary Forest to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2020:

Scout Sunday

We enjoyed a wonderful service this morning at Dublin.  We had 7 Cubs and 5 leaders representing Scouting as well as a 5 Guides and 1 Guide leader, who all paraded into the church carrying the flags.  The 7 Cubs and Lawrence participated in the story of Samuel and Jesse and his 7 sons, with David as the littlest son. (from 1 Samuel 16: 1-13)  It went very well!  Lukas participated as one of 3 sermonettes.  He did a fantastic job of presenting a view of Scouting he prepared along with Akela.  Great Work!!  Guides and Cubs took up the collection.  We had many people come up to us after the service and commented on what a wonderful service it was.  Thanks to Reverends John Lawson and Sue Campbell for welcoming us into the church!

New 2nd Guelph Photo album on Windows Live

I decided to try out putting 2nd Guelph photos onto an external web space to allow more of us to upload photos and have a 3rd-party place to keep and manage them all!
Let me know what you think!!
